Rooting is a process by which you can get root access or administrator privileges to your Android phone and can flash tweaks, custom ROMs, custom kernels, install additional applications which requires root, use firewall etc. If you don’t what exactly root means, I will suggest you to visit here here.

Root will void your phone’s warranty but it doesn’t matter you can get it back!

Rooting Samsung Galaxy Y:

1. Download the zip files to your SD Card (not in any folder).

2. Switch off your phone & boot into recovery mode.

3. Press Vol Up + Power Key + Home button together at the same time to boot in recovery mode.

4. Touch screen is disabled here.

5. Use volume keys for scrolling & home button for selection.

6. Select Apply update for sdcard

7. Select (which you have downloaded).

8. When it shows Install from sdcard complete written.

9. Select reboot system now.

10. Your phone will restart & first boot may take 5 minutes.

11. Check for an application Superuser and open it.

12. Goto Menu > Preferences > SU Binaries.

13. SU Binaries will update.

14. When it get updated, restart your phone.

You’re done! Your phone is now rooted.

Warning: Do not delete Superuser or you will lose your root!

Unrooting Samsung Galaxy Y:

Follow the same steps (1-10) but in place of selecting under apply update from sdcard in recovery mode, select

Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 is one of the the popular smart phone but has no news of upgradation to Ice cream sandwich and Jellybean is far away. But if we want to achive look and feel of the latest Android Google’s phone operating system it is possible by installing Custom Rom or Mod Pack but to install this custom Rom on your android phone Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 first of all you will have to gain super users Right. So to gain super user right you will have to Root your Device. The advantages of a rooted phones is , you can easily remove unwanted bloatware that comes preloaded with your device you can install custom ROM’s kernels etc. The main disadvantage of rooting your device is it void’s your device warranty. So before proceeding check the firmware version of your device device is running on. By going to Settings-> About Phone-> Firmware Version [DDKQ8 2.3.6.]

Installation Instruction:

How to Root the Galaxy Ace 2.3

1. Copy the file (download below) into your sd card. You can even put it in a folder if you want.

2. Turn your phone off

3. Boot your phone into recovery mode. To do that, hold HOME+POWER buttons. When the screen turns on and you see the Samsung logo, let go of POWER but keep holding HOME. After the Galaxy Ace logo shows up and disappears, you should enter recovery mode. You can let go of HOME now.

4. Now in recovery mode, you can scroll up and down using the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons and select using the HOME button.

5. Scroll to the second option “apply update from sdcard” and press HOME to select.

6. Scroll to the file and select it (if you put it in a folder, find and open that folder and then select

7. After it’s done installing, select “reboot system now” and wait for the phone to reboot

8. To check if your phone is rooted, go to you app drawer and look for an app called superuser with an icon of a pirate android with cross bones. If you see it, your phone is rooted.

Congrats! You’ve officially rooted you galaxy ace!!
Now what if you want to go back to unrooted for some reason , or just for the heck of it?? It’s easy. Very similar to rooting

How to Un-root the Ace 2.3:

1. Download (below) and put in sd card

2. Turn off the phone and boot into recovery (refer to step 3 above)

3. Install the (similar to step 5 and 6 above)

4. Restart phone (incase you’re THAT stupid, refer to step 7 above)

5. Look in the app drawer and if all went well, the superuser icon should no longer be there!!!

Congratulations! You have successfully unrooted your Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 on Gingerbread 2.3.

Hi Guys Today i will show you How to Root,Unroot,CWM,and Flash Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i.

Note : This guide is only for s5830i !!DON’T USE FOR s5830!!It can damage your phone!!

How to root Galaxy Ace s5830i :

o Download the place in main directory in the SD card.

o Reboot in Recovery mode by pressing vol up+home+Power button together once you enter recovery mode touch screen become function-less so use volume up and down to move up and down, home button for selection and power as back button.

o Now in recovery mode select Install zip from sd 


Reboot your phone and it’s ready.There must be a Superuser icon in your Apps menu.

How to Unroot Galaxy Ace s5830i :

o  Exactly the same just put the file unroot in your main directory and follow the steps.


1.Put the file in your main directory in SD again.
2.Turn off phone.
3.Boot in Recovery and select apply
4.Select ClockWorkRec5830i.
5.You have CWR but don’t delete from the SD because 
every time you want to use it you must install it from the SD!!

Flashing s5830i with Odin v1.85 ;

1.Turn off the phone and put it in Download mode by pressing Power+Volume Up+volume down.
2.Open Odin v1.84.Run as Administrator!.
3.Put the files in Odin and don’t touch the settings
4.If it’s a one-file firmware put it in PDA section.
If it’s multiple put the files in the correct section.
5.Click start and don’t touch the phone!Don’t turn off computer and don’t unplug the phone!It will reboot automatically and the first boot will take some time,so don’t panic!

Note : If you have “bricked” your s5830i a.k.a stuck at samsung logo just download Odin and flash PDA.tar from the link .
